Creators’ struggle – personal dilemma.

Creators’ struggle – personal dilemma.

Creating art is something that I have always enjoyed. As far as I remember, it has always been a part of my hobby and passion.

Lately, it has been a real struggle to be creative, to be a creator, even though that is exactly what I want to be. Technically, in today’s world, it should be easy to create whatever your heart desires and to showcase your work; we have plenty of platforms. Maybe even too many. In the early days of these platforms/apps, creators had the freedom to decide what they wanted to create and how and where they wanted to showcase it. Today, it’s different—the algorithm decides. Algorithms and companies influence what you have to do and how you have to do it. And they constantly change! It’s become a vicious cycle.

As a photographer, I enjoyed posting my images on Instagram. It was a wonderful way to share my work with others, especially as someone who takes photos as a hobby. Above all, it motivated me to take more photos. My journey in photography started on Instagram. It has been a great tool for me. Right now, I don’t feel the same. The motivation vanished.

What now?

One way to look at this is that this kind of change is inevitable. You have to go with the flow to sustain a social media presence. However, the key is to find a balance. A balance between what you want and what the social media platforms want. A balance between creating without burning yourself out. Balancing is an art in itself. A good balance of family life, friendships, health, and pursuing your interests will take you places while keeping you grounded.
